What exactly is fueling our drive to serve?
At Hamisha Loaves Charity, it is the deep and unsettling thought that any one of us could have been born without the ability to walk, to see, or to speak. The realization that life can change in an instant fuels our empathy and ignites our mission.
During a recent outreach in Sinkor, Monrovia, volunteers from Hamisha Loaves Charity stepped out with one purpose: to touch the lives of people with disabilities, not just with gifts, but with dignity. Carrying banners that displayed our values and commitment, we distributed cash gifts to some of the most vulnerable individuals in the community.
This was more than an event. It was a powerful reminder that every life matters and every act of kindness leaves a lasting impact. For many of the recipients, it was not just about the gift but about being seen, valued, and remembered.
Hamisha, which means "five" in Hebrew, reflects both the five loaves from the Biblical miracle and our five foundational values: compassion, service, integrity, inclusivity, and hope. Our charity exists to provide both physical nourishment and the transformative message of God's love. Inspired by the example of Christ feeding the multitude, we are committed to nourishing both body and soul.
We encourage everyone, whether individuals, churches, or organizations, to support people with disabilities in their own communities. You do not need a platform or a large audience. One small act of love can revive a weary heart and restore lost hope.
At Hamisha Loaves, we believe that love should be visible and faith should be active. Let us continue to be the hands and feet of compassion in a world that deeply needs both.
